Your backup always ready, your UAV always in control
The KopterMax A/B Failover Switch instantly connects a second, fully independent receiver to your UAV. The moment your primary receiver fails, all 12 channels switch over in under 1 millisecond — faster than any flight controller timeout, with no signal glitch and no interruption to flight.
Unlike simple signal selectors, this device also generates software-defined failsafe values per channel, giving you precise control over what happens to each output if neither receiver is available. Everything is configured through the free KopterMax Configurator software over USB-C - no soldering required.
Unique features
- 12 RC channels switch simultaneously in under 1 millisecond
- 3 independent channel groups — each group can switch individually
- 12 software-generated, user-configurable failsafe output values
- 5-way redundant power inputs — one supply is enough
- Selectable power routing to output rail (independent / bank A / bank B)
- Active-high or active-low trigger with adjustable threshold
- Per-group output frequency: 50 Hz or 400 Hz
- USB-C configuration and firmware update
- Works with any standard RC receiver
- No drone warranty infringement
Simple to configure, invisible in operation
Connect primary and backup receivers to banks A and B. Plug in a trigger signal — the switch activates at 1600 µs and resets at 1400 µs by default, both fully adjustable. Two colour LEDs show which bank is active at all times.
For channels where no backup receiver input is needed, place a jumper between the S and SW rows to route a software-defined value instead. The free KopterMax Configurator lets you set each channel's failsafe value, output frequency, and trigger behaviour from your PC.
Who needs this
- Commercial UAV operators flying beyond visual line of sight
- Professional pilots operating in RF-congested environments
- Operators required to demonstrate redundancy for regulatory approval
- Survey, inspection and mapping teams who cannot afford a lost link
- Integrators building flight termination systems
- Anyone flying expensive aircraft where a receiver failure is unacceptable
